Kunstlinie
Kunstlinie, located on the Esplanade in Almere Centrum, was designed by the Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. A stylized simplicity has been chosen where transparency and light are paramount. The location of the building, apparently floating on the Weerwater, provides a surprising incidence of light and beautiful views over the Weerwater.
Cultural meeting place
Kunstlinie Almere Flevoland is a unique cultural spot, a meeting place where people can enjoy theatre, visual arts, architecture, workshops, food and drinks. Theiconic building - with a footprint of more than one hectare - is located right on the Weerwater in the center of Almere Stad and is visited by about 200,000 culture lovers every year. Kunstlinie is an art hall, stage and city forum.
