Garrett Bradley - Revolutions

Eye Filmmuseum presents the first museum exhibition in Europe of the American artist and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Garrett Bradley. The exhibition takes the visitor into her world: a rich mix of engagement and experiment in which she critically questions (film) history from a contemporary perspective.

SAIL Amsterdam occurs once every five years and is one of the city's largest events. The tenth edition is set to commence in August 2025. A massive fleet of large ships and various other special vessels sail across the IJ and dock near the city center. Sail 2025 coincides with two other significant anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of Sail (which was first organized in 1975) and the 750th anniversary of the city of Amsterdam. It's a triple celebration.

Pride Amsterdam

With the theme Love, Amsterdam Pride returns to the capital. Focused on the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTIQ+ community, but also to celebrate and meet each other. In order to meet the wishes and expectations of the many – sometimes new – target groups, more attention is needed to welcome everyone. Amsterdam Pride starts on July 3 and lasts until August 3, 2025.

Grachtenfestival Amsterdam

In 2025, the Grachtenfestival will return to Amsterdam for the 28th edition. At the Grachtenfestival everything starts with music. Young musicians from all over the world surprise you with their own musical stories. With more than 95 locations, the Grachtenfestival will again be present this year in all parts of Amsterdam, with many free neighborhood concerts, but also at unique locations such as the Royal Palace on Dam Square, the ARTIS Planetarium and Fabrique des Lumières. This ensures that the Canal Festival always continues to innovate and allows visitors to (re)discover the city.

Julidans

Julidans will return to the city in 2026 with a new edition. Julidans presents the current state of affairs in contemporary dance. In a broad program, see the work of leading and idiosyncratic choreographers from different cultural and disciplinary backgrounds. They show more than 40 performances at 14 locations throughout the city, with International Theater Amsterdam as the heart of the festival. Julidans is the festival for international contemporary dance that inspires connoisseurs and curious minds alike. Please note: Dates and times for 2026 need to be confirmed.

Amsterdam Fringe Festival presents its 20th edition with a mix mash of theatre, performance and dance from new, emerging and untamed talent for 11 days. The whole city is our playground; from boat to club to theater, from North to South, you will find us for 11 days at about 22 locations throughout Amsterdam. The festival is an ode to theatrical madness, the independent spirit and a plea for artistic freedom. The program promises another intriguing mix of performances.

Pluk de Nacht Film Festival

For more than 20 years, you have been able to enjoy the open-air film festival at the Stenen Hoofd in Amsterdam. This festival guarantees sultry summer evenings with the most beautiful films on a big screen, beach chairs, warm blankets, a campfire and cocktails! In 2024, you can again sit in a beach chair and watch the most beautiful films. Please note: dates and times mentioned for 2024 are subject to change.

Kwaku Summer Festival is celebrating its birthday, just like the city itself. What started 50 years ago as a football tournament for the neighbourhood has now been a grand celebration of the identity of the Zuidoost district for years. The Nelson Mandela Park will be the scene of dance, music, film, food and of course football for four weekends.

From  the beginning of July to the last Saturday in  August, the ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo is open every Saturday until sunset. During the golden evening hours, between the flowering beds of the edible garden, up-and-coming musical talent takes to the stage in the Bandstand. During the ARTIS Summer Nights you will experience the lively ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo in a different light, where no evening is the same!

Open Air Film Festival Pride Amsterdam

During Pride Amsterdam, Open Air Cinemas will be held on various dates and locations again this year. There are 400 seats available, and admission is free. Will we see you there?!
