Keukenhof Castle

Take a look outside Amsterdam and visit the centuries-old Keukenhof Estate in Lisse. People know it from the worldwide famous flower exhibition, but there is more! The estate has a castle and is also the setting for many other activities. Outside the opening of the Keukenhof flower exhibition, you can go for a walk to the surrounding estate for free all year round.

Discover the estate

What many people do not know is that there are 16 national monuments on the historic Keukenhof Estate. Keukenhof Castle is the best known and was built in 1641 as a country estate by a wealthy Amsterdam merchant. Would you like to see the castle from the inside? Book a tour online or visit us during Open Monument Day or the Day of It. The guides will tell you all the stories from the glorious past.

In addition to the castle, the Koetshuis and the Hofboerderij are two national monuments that are still in use. Parties and classical concerts of Kasteel Cultureel take place in the Koetshuis. The Hofboerderij served as a farm until 2013 and is now an attractive restaurant where you are welcome from Wednesday to Sunday for a cup of coffee with fresh pastries, a delicious lunch sandwich or a drink.

Larger events such as the Buttonpop festival, the magical Castlefest and the Keukenhof Dahlia Days also take place annually on the grounds around the castle. In the summer you can enjoy 150 varieties of dahlias in full bloom in the garden of Keukenhof Castle!
