Editor’s Pick: Min Taka
For fans of: Magdalena Bay, Alice Phoebe Lou
Min Taka says she manifested playing at Paradiso (which feels fitting, since she took her name from a tarot card she once pulled), calling it the place to see live shows in Amsterdam. Sure, maybe manifestation played a role, but her magnetic sound, shifting from “intimate and soft to intense commotion”, definitely had something to do with her landing her first-ever headline show at Paradiso’s Upper Room on 27 June.
The Turkish singer even dreamed up her own genre: “pixie pop,” a mix of “bubble grunge, drum ’n’ bass, distorted guitars, and soft ballads.” What can you expect from her show? She calls it “energetic, raw, upbeat, but vulnerable as well”, basically an emotional roller-coaster with pixie dust on top.
After the show, she hopes to head straight to the merch stand, sell her first-ever pressed vinyl, and connect with the people who shared this night with her. You’ll want to be one of those people, because something tells us it won’t be long before Min Taka returns to take over Paradiso’s main hall.

Puma Blue
For fans of: King Krule, Frank Ocean
On his latest album, Puma Blue trades in his synthy textures for a more acoustic, ambient palette, but the dreamy vulnerability that defines his music remains. Bitterzoet’s close quarters make it the perfect stage for his jazz-tinged indie sound and whispery, confessional performance.

Public Enemy
For fans of: 2pac, Kendrick Lamar
Public Enemy changed the game with It Takes a Nation of Millions and Fear of a Black Planet, two albums that redefined the sound and message of hip-hop, putting social justice under the spotlight. Catch Chuck D and Flavor Flav live this month at Melkweg, the go-to spot for hip-hop heads, delivering their fierce, politically-charged bars and layered beats.

Lucy Dacus
For fans of: Mitski, Angel Olsen
Lucy Dacus is bringing her “Forever is a Feeling” tour to Paradiso for a two-night stay. This marks her first solo album since taking over the world as part of the indie-rock supergroup Boygenius. Known for her poignant songwriting around coming-of-age and coming out, Dacus charts the full arc of adult (queer) love on this album with tender, intimate lyrics.
Monday 16 June - Tuesday 17 June | doors open 19:00 | Paradiso | tickets here
Morrissey
For fans of: The Smiths, Pulp
With his melancholic tone and sardonic wit, Morrissey has cemented his status as a cult icon across generations. Now, he's set to take the stage at AFAS Live, and he might even slip in a few Smiths songs, though probably not the biggest hits. One thing’s for sure, the man knows how to put on a show – emotional, unpredictable and always on his own terms.
Thursday 19 June | doors open 19:00 | AFAS Live | tickets here
Miso Extra
For fans of: Metronomy, Beabadoobee
For one night, step into Miso Extra’s ‘Misoverse’, an anime-inspired, bilingual dreamworld, brought to you by Doka Live x Paradiso. With a fusion of glittery electro-pop and laid-back hip-hop, it’s no wonder her music’s been dubbed “umami for the ears”.

Every stage, from local bars and historic churches to cosy courtyards and clubs, will come alive with music for a weekend as Red Light Jazz celebrates Amsterdam’s rich jazz roots. While it began as a tribute to the smooth saxophone, with legends like Hans Dulfer still taking the stage, the festival now also embraces funky, electronic sounds from artists like ISHA and Another Taste. Start your weekend at somewhere like music bar and restaurant Contra, for a jazz come club night.
