RADION

You'd be hard pressed to find a techno venue more revered in Amsterdam than RADION. Housed in a former dental office in Amsterdam's Nieuw-West, this nightclub's gritty subterranean feel makes it the perfect venue for a night of non-stop dancing.

Zuiderkerk

The Zuiderkerk was designed by Hendrick de Keyser and was built in the early seventeenth century. It was the first Protestant church in the city. The church is a pseudo-basilica and consists of a central nave and two slightly lower aisles. The gable ends on the north and south sides are very richly decorated in Renaissance shapes. Unusual for that time are the rectangular windows. No church services have been held since 1929.

OCCII

Get a taste of Amsterdam's old squat culture in this legendary (legalised) squat, directly facing the southern gates of Vondelpark. OCCII is a community in itself. Sure, you can drop in here most nights to delve into the underworld of the global music scene (think queer punk nights, hardcore, glitchcore, new wave, experimental hip-hop, metal, indie and obscure jazz). But there's much more to the heart and soul of this complex, including a vegan café, rehearsal studios, children's theatre and other DIY projects.

Over a century ago, Het Sieraad was a trade school that taught carpentry, mechanics, and metalworking. Today, it’s an unmissable part of Amsterdam’s nightlife scene, with a program that features international artists like Dom Dolla and Secret Cinema. In addition to its night-time offerings, it also functions as a popular conference venue.

Volkshotel Werkplaats Cafe

First it was home to a broadsheet newspaper – De Volkskrant –, then to myriads of artists, creatives and artistic-creative start-ups in its function as a ‘creative incubator.’ Now, the building on Amsterdam’s Wibautstraat has entered its next incarnation: as a hotel. Its creative spirit, however, has not been stifled.
