Celebrating the imminent arrival of the World Cup, for one week only, Kick Off Studio's in Jordaan will transform into a football lover's dream, filled with vintage football shirts from nations competing in the competition. While the “fake fans” among us will rejoice at having something to match their jean shorts and sambas this summer, others can stay true to their roots and pick up one of many Netherlands jerseys, a classic 90s Brazil shirt or show their support for an underdog.

A must-visit for any football lover, COPA’s Amsterdam flagship store features table football, artificial grass flooring, stadium seating, artwork, an in-store movie screen, and even a footballing chapel. This is a place that worships the beautiful game, which might lead you to pray over their selections. They specialise in retro pieces, meaning that they are vintage in style but not in provenance. Expect a larger national team selection than almost anywhere else, with countries represented ranging from Algeria to South Korea.

Cream, a vintage store in De Wallen, has a special football shirt section titled ‘Off the Field’. Expect a wide variety, with plenty of nice picks. The selection tends to lean more towards club team jerseys, but there are international options too, with both modern and classic jerseys on display. Think 2018 England alongside 1990 Brazil.

Waterlooplein Market

Best for: Budget Finds

Amsterdam’s largest daily flea market on Waterlooplein is the place to go for a budget jersey, though the selection is decidedly less curated than some of our other picks. It’ll require searching through piles of assorted vintage clothing, but the sheer volume of clothes around assures you’ll have some success. However, bear in mind that most shirts on offer will be “fakes”. While you’re there, feel free to browse through other stalls selling antiques, jewellery, and general knick-knacks.
