What on earth is going on?

On Saturday, 21 June 2025, Amsterdam's A10 Ring Road will be transformed into a 15-kilometre-long car-free festival. Admission is free, but from 21 May, you can purchase your ticket for one of the three time slots and zones. During Festival Op de Ring, around 25 programme components will be spread across three zones on and around the A10 motorway: A10 West, A10 Zuid, and A10 Oost. Expect a grand celebration filled with music, activities, local entrepreneurs and artists, and many Amsterdammers celebrating the longest day of the year together. Unwind in a forest

Can you still see the motorway? During Festival Op de Ring, part of the A10 will transform into a green forest, with 750 large and 7,500 small trees. Head here for a picnic, to cool off, or participate in surprising activities among the greenery. The trees are a birthday gift for Amsterdam and will be planted throughout the city afterwards.

Tie the knot

Chosen from a lottery of over 400 couples, 20 happy couples will say "I do" to each other during a grand wedding ceremony at this special location. Come and cheer on the lovebirds; you might even catch a bouquet.

Jog along the highway

Running from Watergraafsmeer to the RAI, across the motorway. During Run Op de Ring, more than 20,000 runners will cover a distance of 7.5 kilometres at this one-off running event. Come and cheer on the participants to celebrate the start of the festival.

Get your skates on

After the running race, the entire circuit will be cleared for everyone to roll around on. Come with a bicycle or roller skates and seize the opportunity to show off all your tricks and talents among all the other cycling enthusiasts.

Refuel at the table

Take a seat at the long tables and taste the flavours of Amsterdam's diverse cultures during a neighbourhood meal that's even bigger than you could imagine. Meet other Amsterdammers and visitors, and make valuable connections while you recharge for the rest of the festival.

Watch performances and open mic slots

The festival grounds will host several stages, each with its own atmosphere and sound:

• In Zone Zuid, listen to special concerts by the Concertgebouw, with a mix of music styles: from choirs to brass bands and more surprising artists. There is also an Open Stage where emerging talent can get the audience dancing.
• In Zone West, the AVROTROS music festival will be in full swing as Jan Smit presents both new and well-known Dutch artists.
• In Zone West, the neighbourhood party promises to be full of rhythm, energy, and discovery, with everything from African dance to jazz.

Grab a biertje

Time for a beer? Grab a refreshing drink and step onto the terrace of a special café at HeinkenPlein Op de Ring. For the whole experience, don't forget to try the special Amsterdam 750-beer from Heineken Studio Mokum.

Follow the rave trucks

In addition to live performances, DJs will provide the ultimate festival vibes. Join the raving trucks of the parade, Rolling Rhythm Op de Ring, and dance along as they create a moving club while driving along the highway. Expect a mix of punk, rock, hip-hop, techno, and Caribbean sounds. The ChinChin Club will also participate with its own stage, where DJs from across the city will spin hip-hop and African beats — perfect for letting loose.

Join the afterparty

Not exhausted after the festival? Thankfully, there is still plenty to experience in the city afterwards that you shouldn't miss! The night programme of Festival Op de Ring A10 spreads across the entire city, with more than 25 participating locations such as Melkweg, The Pool Bar, stadsstrand Kaap, Café Pollux, and cultural community centre De Sering. Each participating club, pub, or cultural venue will create its own evening. The result is a diverse, city-wide offering for everyone to enjoy. Whether you want to dance until sunrise, experience art, or simply enjoy a quiet drink, there's something for everyone at night. The night programme will be announced later, so keep an eye on this page for tips.

Tips to keep in mind:

• Get a free entry ticket—Of course, the most important thing is securing a ticket. Therefore, register on 21 May 2025 at 10:00 via this link and select your preferred time slot. Please note that you can choose a maximum of 4 or 6 tickets per order.
• Access to the zones—For access to zones A10 West and A10 Zuid, an entry ticket is required, free of charge. When booking, select a time slot and a specific entrance to the festival. Once on the site, you can move between these two zones. Please note: Zone Oost does not have a passage to the other zones. If you wish to visit multiple zones, you must enter separately through other entrances.
• Keep an eye on the programme—Visit the website regularly to stay updated on the schedule and the latest news. The full programme will be announced on 21 May 2025.
