The Amsterdam Dungeon

Fancy making Halloween truly spine-chilling this year? At The Amsterdam Dungeon, two scenes from the regular tour are temporarily replaced by a Halloween special. In The Bloodstained House, a medium accidentally summons an evil spirit during a séance. In The Last Witch, you become part of the story of Meynes Cornelis, a woman who was accused of witchcraft in the 16th century. And if you still think after the regular tour: this could be scarier, there’s Dungeons After Dark: The Haunted Red Lights Experience. A completely new experience with live actors and extra scares.

A cursed videotape, a mysterious well and 7 days before doom strikes. Horror film fans probably already know enough: The Ring was released in 2002 and went on to become a modern horror classic. This year, the story comes to life at the WesterUnie, where 3 immersive zones transport you into the dark world of the film. In The Tape Room old televisions flicker, in The Well Pit you come face to face with the infamous well, and in Shelter Mountain Inn you find yourself in a creaking wooden cabin filled with cold draughts, lantern light and whispered legends. And the evening is far from over.

Kids’ Halloween Costume Ball 2026

There’s plenty to do for young little spooks on 31 October too. De Nieuwe Anita is hosting the Kids Halloween Costume Ball, where children can come in costume and enjoy an afternoon of face painting and music by DJ Gibbo. Sweets are covered too: there’s spooky cake, a lemonade fountain and a witches’ cauldron waiting by the door. Anyone who shouts ‘Trick or Treat’ can fish out a sweet.

THEATRE & PERFORMANCES

Glitter, glamour and a seriously spooky twist: Fatale Cabaret takes over Club RAUM for a special Halloween edition packed with comedy, drag and performances. Taking to the stage are Eve Fatale, JO. JOE, Lana Van Der Brug, PÚCA, SLETLANA and Vanity Dusk. Expect plenty of spectacle and an evening where being overdressed simply doesn’t exist.

Halloween gets a chic twist during Le Petit Halloween Gala at the TOBACCO Theater. The evening begins with a three-course dinner by Daalder, accompanied by live opera music. This is followed by a spectacular ballet show, and from 8.30 pm the party continues with a DJ. The dress code is A Night at the Theater, so get your long dress, feathers and mask out of the wardrobe. After all, Halloween is the perfect time to really go all out. And if you’re not ready to go home after 11.00 pm, head to the afterparty at Tuftuf, where the party continues until 4.00 am.

Haunted Harmonies

No dark corridors or jump scares, but an evening where the music gives you goosebumps: during Haunted Harmonies, WesterHarmonie takes you into the sinister and mysterious side of music, together with an imposing church organ. The programme includes music by Bach and Saint-Saëns, The Phantom of the Opera and The Pink Panther. A perfect choice if you’d rather not spend Halloween in an escape room or haunted house.

FESTIVALS & PARTIES

A haunted house, a Halloween party and more than 30 different shows: during Supper’s Haunted Halloween Festival, Supper and Bar Rouge transform into one big haunted playground. Expect DJ sets from Mink Rayzir, Stasi Sanlin and Valeria, interspersed with horror shows. Need a breather from all those spooky vibes? Head to the bar for a killer cocktail.

Put on your best black outfit, message your friends and get ready for a night of house and techno at The Loft. Especially for Halloween, the club will be completely decked out in black, creating a mysterious underground atmosphere. Halloween party

This year, Halloween falls exactly on a Saturday, so that’s reason enough to make it a long night. At Skatecafe in Noord, you can do just that during Halloweenfest, where Pacific Ondergronds and KRUISPUNT are hosting an evening with live music and various acts. The line-up includes Pablo X, Mispricks, Diora, Genuine Leather, Melis Köke and Ray Slyther, with a mix of punk, garage and alternative rock. Put on your best Halloween outfit, come up with a fitting alter ego and head for Skatecafe.
