Party tips for WorldPride Amsterdam 2026

Updated 20 May 2026 at 11:35Written by Tom Flanagan
From raves to buzzy street parties, WorldPride Amsterdam (25 July to 8 August) looks to harness what Unity, this year's theme, truly means in the Dutch capital.

In the heart of Vondelpark, celebrate freedom and diversity in what's dubbed the 'Park of Love'. The Vondelpark Open Air Theatre and the Tropical Stage are the heartbeat of the festivities, featuring speakers, sports, debates, and music – a relaxed, low-key way to welcome in the WorldPride weeks in Amsterdam.

Milkshake

Complete with a memorable blend of music, performance, and style, Milkshake Festival has become one of Europe's most beloved queer festivals. It’s a ‘come as you are’ party, as long as that includes an outfit that reflects whatever that means to you. Open-minded and dancey, it's a weekend-long celebration, with Sunday being a hotspot for locals. And with nine stages and a kaleidoscope of performances, choice is one thing you always have. Milkshake provides a platform for artists from underrepresented groups while also featuring household names like Mel C, Sugababes, Jessie Ware, and Trixie Mattel on the main stage. Keep your eyes peeled for this year’s surprise guests.

A two-night celebration of music, unity, and pride that brings together global headliners, cutting-edge DJs and thousands of people from around the world, with headlines like Bebe Rexha, Paris Hilton, Honey Dijon and MNEK.

BOPS x KIKI WorldPride 2026

Founded by Dutch-American DJ duo and pop fanatics Evert Groot and Tom Morgan, BOPS (a shorthand name for catchy pop tunes) has quickly become one of Amsterdam’s go-to queer parties. What began as a basement party for friends has since blossomed into a quarterly night at The Other Side, where anyone and everyone is encouraged to embrace the pop girl inside them. This year's World Pride special is a collaboration with London collective KIKI (not the Dutch DJ of the same name). Reeling off a roster of high-octane pop and house with a disco twist, BOPS is a welcome tonic for those looking for an alternative to techno and a kaleidoscopic night of queer joy. Come for the bops – stay for the feeling.

Canal Parade

Pride in Amsterdam is synonymous with the Canal Parade and for good reason. Whether you're on a boat, dancing along the quay, or celebrating somewhere else in the city, Amsterdam's Pride Parade is like nothing else. Fleets of boats sail along the canals, each decorated around the theme of 2026: UNITY for World Pride. A special 300-metre-long stadium with 10,000 seats will be erected along the Prinsengracht this year in light of World Pride, for what will be Amsterdam's most celebratory edition yet. Read our full story on the history of pride here.

Pride street parties

Celebrate the aftermath of the Canal Parade out on the street. The whole city comes alive, from Dam Square to Waterkant on the Marnixstraat, and from Stopera to the Reguliersdwarsstraat. Hospitality venues and DJs combine for a buzzy atmosphere of lovely tunes and ice-cold drinks.

FPQXL: 20 Years - Greatest Hits

FPQXL

A staple of Pride, Amsterdam's oldest pop party, FPQ, is coming to Paradiso to celebrate 20 years. Expect all the pop songs you used to play in your bedroom to play all night here – belt out a tune and don't worry if you don't hit the high notes, though fair warning to anyone who's dancing next to you.

Descend deep into the Tropikali world for a special edition which will close out World Pride. This festival – which usually happens every June – turns up in Paradiso in August, bringing back a Pride staple, ROSARIO, born from the sunny dances in Vondelpark and now reimagined indoors. An LGBTQI+ focused party, expect anything from Latin house to Balkan and SWANA-influenced pop in what is a truly global celebration.

Closing Concert WorldPride Amsterdam

Round out the World Pride programme with this special concert at Museumplein (usually at Dam Square), which celebrates two weeks of coming together. Expect dance, music and performance from big and local names, a great way to say goodbye to all the new friends you've made across the many parties and maybe even make some new ones.
