Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, is the most important event on the Chinese calendar and is celebrated worldwide.

The Buddhist temple Fo Guang Shan He Hua stands in Amsterdam's Chinese Nieuwmarkt neighborhood. The Chinese New Year celebration takes place annually at this Chinese temple. At various locations throughout the city, attention is paid to the Chinese New Year with celebrations and activities.
