Olympic Stadium Amsterdam
The Olympic Stadium, built for the 1928 games, has continued through the decades to play host to a multitude of events, sporting and otherwise. Located in Amsterdam Zuid, the monument also provides office space for upwards of thirty businesses.
Amsterdam's premiere sports stadium
A shining example of architecture of the Amsterdamse School, the stadium was the first to introduce the idea of the Olympic flame. When AFC Ajax moved out in 1996, it was returned to its original 1928 glory, and made suitable for track and field events again. It has since been further refurbished, and as well as athletics competitions it plays host to festivals and exhibitions, and a popular sports museum, the Olympic Experience Amsterdam.
