Paintings, ship models and many more nautical items

Atmospheric object exhibitions such as the Republic at Sea and Cartography & Curiosities show the best of one of the largest maritime collections in the world.

The Maritime Museum houses one of the largest and most prominent maritime collections in the world and includes paintings, ship models, navigation instruments and nautical charts.

Also visit the Amsterdam, the VOC ship moored at the museum's jetty.

In addition to discovering 500 years of Dutch maritime history and the connection with the society of today and the future, the museum is aware that part of that maritime history is also colonial history. If you want to know more about the museum, the exhibitions go to the website for all information.

Accessibility

The VOC ship Amsterdam at the jetty of the Maritime Museum is unfortunately only partially accessible for wheelchair users. The elevator on the jetty takes you to the Overflow deck of the ship. The hold and the upper deck are unfortunately not accessible with a wheelchair.
