Aybüke Avcı comes from the Turkish village of Çetirefli, near Adana. The tomatoes, peppers, and other crops grown there survive thanks to medication, just like the patients with diagnosed depression who make up half of the village population.

As the production of paprika paste—the village's source of income—goes through various phases, such as harvesting, sorting, and grinding, the pressure of the physically demanding work gradually increases on the people's mental health.

During a summer coinciding with the bell pepper harvest, Aybüke looks back on her childhood memories and paints a confronting yet tender portrait of her uncles Mehmet and Yakup, who are both struggling with depression.

After the screening, Aybüke will discuss this intimate documentary.
