In the words of Martina: My singing is resistance

"I give voice to my thoughts through songs to denounce injustice in Colombia. My singing is resistance."

Her breakthrough album Canto, Palo y Cuero (2009) unleashed a global remix ecosystem that surpassed 500 million streams, supported on dance floors by names like Keinemusik and Dennis Cruz, and all without any paid promotion. Songs from 2009 still account for more than 70% of her monthly streams in 2026, sustained purely by viral discovery and remix culture.

Martina is a Latin Grammy-nominated artist (Best Folk Album, 2024), a respected cultural advocate for Afro-Colombian rights, and has collaborated with Grammy-winning icons including Aterciopelados and Petrona Martínez .
