With the I amsterdam City Card, a canal cruise costs nothing: every card includes one free cruise with one of the participating operators, among which are Blue Boat, LOVERS, STROMMA and others. There is no need to book ahead. Board the next available cruise of any participating operator between 10:00 and 18:00, any day of the week. You can choose one free cruise per card, and the departure points are on the map below.

Free canal cruise included in the price of your City Card

Enjoy your one free canal cruise at your leisure. There's no need to book ahead of time: simply buy your City Card online and board the next available cruise of any participating canal cruise company when you arrive. Keep in mind that a City Card holder can choose only one free cruise from any of the included operators. If you wish to take a second canal cruise ride, consider purchasing a separate Canal Cruise Ticket, which is valid for a year.

You can enjoy a canal tour with the City Card between 10:00 and 18:00, every day of the week.

Important: during the Amsterdam Light Festival (26.11.2026 - 17.01.2027), the canal cruise can be boarded only until 16:30. On average, a canal cruise in Amsterdam starts from €18 and up, depending on whether the boat is open or covered, as well as the duration of the trip and extras, such as included drinks, or special cruises such as a cheese and wine cruise. The I amsterdam Card includes a free cruise on a covered boat with a duration of 60-75 minutes. The boats run every 30 minutes and do not require prior booking.
