This year marks the 14th edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival, with the theme Legacy. It will once again put our capital in the spotlight during the dark winter months. Artists from the Netherlands and abroad have created unique works, most of them specifically for the Amsterdam Light Festival. Amsterdam's canals form the festival's enchanting backdrop.

With your City Card, you can book an Amsterdam Light Festival canal cruise with a 25% discount. During this cruise, you will pass 20 light artworks. Departures are from 4:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Amsterdam Light Festival takes place from 27 November 2025 to 18 January 2026. Experience Amsterdam's light festival up close on a canal cruise.
