These snacks from the Middle East are prepared and served by the people of Refugee Company, an organisation that raises funds to offer learn-work programmes to people with refugee backgrounds.

Refugee Company has been crossing out the word refugee for seven years, because 'refugee' is not an identity, but a temporary phase in someone's life. They prefer to talk about 'people who once fled to the Netherlands', but it is even better to call each other by name. Refugee Company offers paid jobs and volunteer work in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Arnhem. This has allowed people like Beriha, Lubna, Mohammed, and many others to gain work experience and become financially independent. And you can enjoy delicious Middle Eastern food!
