The cinema was initiated following the success of the open-air cinema. Bijlmerbios Film(t)huis is open to collaborations with other cultural institutions. The cinema is an initiative of the Metro Projects foundation in collaboration with Studiomeiboom .

Tickets can only be paid online or by debit card.

Bijlmer cinema from Zandkasteel to OBA Next Lab

Bijlmer Bios has closed its cinema at Zandkasteel in 2025, but will continue its journey in Zuidoost at OBA Next Lab. After the G-Buurt and Amsterdamse Poort neighbourhoods, the next stop is the K-Buurt neighbourhood. With this journey through the district, they are helping to put various locations on the map and continue to contribute to a culturally vibrant neighborhood. Bijlmer Bios is currently preparing for its new location at OBA Next Lab near the Kraaiennest metro station.
