Bijlmerbios

Bijlmerbios is a cinema with regular film programming, arthouse, documentaries, and/or short films, and an annual open-air cinema in Amsterdam Zuidoost. A film is shown every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening, and occasionally at other times as well. Bijlmerbios aims to inspire filmmaking and, if possible, encourage empathy, reflection, and possibly participation through post-event discussions. Please note: The end times mentioned are indicative and depend on the films shown that evening.

The film house of South East

The cinema was initiated following the success of the open-air cinema. Bijlmerbios Film(t)huis is open to collaborations with other cultural institutions. The cinema is an initiative of the Metro Projects foundation in collaboration with Studiomeiboom .

Tickets can only be paid online or by debit card.

Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time and you can bring a drink with you if needed.

Bijlmer cinema from Zandkasteel to OBA Next Lab

Bijlmer Bios has closed its cinema at Zandkasteel in 2025, but will continue its journey in Zuidoost at OBA Next Lab. After the G-Buurt and Amsterdamse Poort neighbourhoods, the next stop is the K-Buurt neighbourhood. With this journey through the district, they are helping to put various locations on the map and continue to contribute to a culturally vibrant neighborhood. Bijlmer Bios is currently preparing for its new location at OBA Next Lab near the Kraaiennest metro station.
