Stories between two worlds
Glodi Lugungu is on the stage of De Kleine Komedie in Amsterdam with his show In de hemel ken ik jullie niet. As a child of Congolese and Dutch parents, he knows life between two cultures from the inside out. He tells stories about identity, expectations and the awkwardness that comes with it. Not with a heavy heart, but with a sharp eye for the absurd.
Absurdism as a storytelling style
Glodi has his own way of telling stories. He turns everyday situations into hilarious, unexpected stories. He won both the jury prize and the audience award at the Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival. Theaterkrant described him as someone who 'knows how to brew a hilarious and absurd story out of it'. His engaging style draws you in, from the beginning to the end of the show.
Silence after the storm
The show is about that moment when everything falls silent. After a period of busyness or sadness, there is suddenly: nothing. No answer, no direction, no sound. Glodi explores that feeling with humor and honesty. He takes you to places you don't expect — but fortunately not to heaven yet.
