About Ayşegül Karaca

Ayşegül Karaca grew up in a family with domestic violence. This leads to inevitable questions such as: What does it do to a mother when you see character traits of your violent husband in the child you love unconditionally? And what does it do to a child when your mother would rather hide half of your DNA? In her 3rd performance, Karaca translates her personal experiences into a piece about a complex mother-son relationship.

Midas

Midas grows up as a little prince who lacks nothing. But in an attempt to get closer to her son, his mother pushes him away. As a young adult, he does not feel seen in his 'masculinity' and is seduced by traditional and misogynistic ideas on the internet. Despite his feminist upbringing, he seems to fall back into his father's behavior.
