Eerste Voorronde AKF

The Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival is celebrating! For the 40th year in a row, the preliminary rounds are on the agenda. And this year, the same applies: everyone (we repeat: everyone) can participate. During this preliminary round, the candidates will be on the stage of Theater Bellevue. Please note: The stated end time is an indication and may differ on the evening itself.

Strict but fair elimination race

The concept is very simple: during the first preliminary rounds, artists present 10 minutes of self-written material to the jury and the audience: sometimes still raw, sometimes already surprisingly sharp. But always with the ambition to grow further. And that formula works. For 40 years already.

At the AKF, cabaret artists are given the space to research, experiment and find their own form, with professional coaching, try-outs and the Keep an Eye Masterclass program. From cabaret to spoken word, from musical theatre to the Dutch-language theatre song and everything that does not (yet) fit into a box: the AKF continues to distinguish itself as the festival with the broadest definition of cabaret and kleinkunst. So pull up a chair to follow it with your own eyes from the very first moment.

After this first round, the jury will select the 18 creators who will be allowed to further develop their work for the second selection round.
