New compositions by young cello talents

Thomas Prechal and Ori Ron stood out during the final of the Nationaal Cello Concours 2024 by playing their own compositions. That was reason enough to invite them to write new pieces for this concert. They will perform these pieces together with second prize winner Bruno Tobon. The Haydn Jeugd Strijkorkest will accompany the three winners.

Jury members as soloists

In addition to the three winners, two jury members from the 2026 competition will also be on stage. Jan Ype Nota will sing songs from Schubert's Winterreise, a cycle about processing a lost love. Maja Bogdanović will play the Hongaarse Rhapsodie by David Popper, a virtuoso work full of colour and energy.

Cello quintet as a finale

The concert concludes with Chant du Ménestrel by Glazunov. In this work, the five soloists will form a cello quintet together. Are you interested? Use the link for tickets.
