A musical journey between 2 cultures

Cellists Astrig Siranossian and Ildikó Szabó connect their roots in this special performance. Siranossian has French-Armenian roots, Szabó comes from Hungary. Together they explore the common ground and the contrasts between their musical heritage. You will hear both old and new compositions, which let the richness of both cultures resonate.

Semi-theatrical concert with the JongNBE

The performance is more than a concert. The arrangers of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble are working together with the 2 cellists and the young musicians of the JongNBE on a semi-theatrical form. Music and theatrical elements alternate, allowing you to also feel the stories behind the sounds.

Armenian and Hungarian music in the Muziekgebouw

The Muziekgebouw Amsterdam is the place where these 2 musical traditions come together. The acoustics and atmosphere of the building enhance the experience of the performance. Are you interested in world music, classical music or special cross-cultural projects? This programme offers a unique perspective on 2 rarely heard musical traditions.
