Mozart's Symphony No. 40

Led by Gordan Nikolić, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra performs Mozart's Symphony No. 40. A mysterious symphony without a (known) commissioner, one of only two symphonies Mozart wrote in a minor key, admired by Schumann and Brahms. The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra also plays Mozart's ballet music from the opera Idomeneo , tailor-made for this long-standing partner of the Dutch National Opera.

Ivo Pogorelich plays Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2

Ivo Pogorelich participated in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1980 but was eliminated before the final due to jury disputes and political wrangling, to the great bewilderment of the public. Martha Argerich, a former winner, demonstratively stepped down from the jury and called him a genius—a scandal was born. By now, friend and foe alike praise Pogorelich's interpretation of Chopin, and he was even called 'the greatest Chopin interpreter of our time' by a music critic. So do not miss this performance of Chopin's beloved and poetic Second Piano Concerto !
