The Edam Cheese Weigh House

De Kaaswaag Edam (Edam Cheese Weighhouse) invites you to explore the cheesemaking traditions of Edam, the cheese capital of the Netherlands located north of Amsterdam. The beautiful region keeps historic traditions alive and allows visitors to taste the celebrated product.

The art of cheesemaking

The museum is housed inside a building that dates back to 1778. It features a permanent exhibition that explains the art of cheesemaking in a historic weighing room. Visitors can taste the types of cheeses and purchase some to take home. De Kaaswaag Edam is open every day between April and September but is closed during the winter months.
