The Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American is a four-star hotel located on Leidseplein. The hotel was built between 1900 and 1902 and is a monumental Art Nouveau building with its famous Café Americain.

Built in 1900, the hotel is a heritage listed art nouveau monument, and some of the architectural features can be admired in the famous Café Américain and the guest rooms. The hotel has six floors with a total of 173 guest rooms, most of which have views of the canal or the Leidseplein.
