Amstel Hotel

Since its doors opened in 1867, Amstel Hotel has been revered the world over for its palatial grandeur and residential warmth. Located where the financial, cultural and shopping districts converge, the hotel is a short walk from the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Spiegelkwartier and the Royal Carré Theatre. The Anne Frank House and the 14th-century Begijnhof are easy to reach by public transport or taxi.

Classic elegance and discreet luxury

Restaurant La Rive's culinary mastery and service easily put La Rive in a class of its own. Each dish is prepared according to French-Mediterranean tradition. Chef de Cuisine Rogér Rassin’s signature dishes include Wagyu beef marinated in sweet shallots and citrus fruit with croquettes of Iberian pig, Banyuls vinaigrette, purée of Jerusalem artichoke and celery with tomatoes; and gently smoked Bresse pigeon with pumpkin chutney, caramelised chicory, sweet pepper manioc and jus made with Vin Santo. The extensive wine list and specially designed porcelain and silverware add to the Michelin star mystique.

Amstel Bar & Brasserie

Amstel Bar & Brasserie is an informal, cosy spot for lunch, dinner or a late evening supper after the theatre. Cocktails are expertly poured at the wood-panelled bar, and unpretentious, brasserie-style selections are offered from a seasonal menu. A wall of windows overlooking the river showcases an endless parade of sailboats, water taxis, rowboats and typical Dutch boats gliding past.
