Dutch Theatre Festival in Amsterdam
Get star struck as the biggest names in the Dutch
and Belgian theatre
world strut the red carpet and experience the drama as performers compete for the theatre
awards. The Theatre Festival
features the best productions of the theatrical season in various locations, including the city's Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam
and Theater Bellevue.
A number of performances with English surtitles
are suitable for non-Dutch speakers, while other visual performances are aimed at much younger audiences. This year the perfomances are Coco Chanel, A Love Supreme, Zvizdal en ISH (Elemenst of Freestyle 8+).
Jury & Theatre Awards
During the season, the theatre
jury selects the year's highlights, revealing its top 11 productions. The jury also nominates producers and actors for the VSCD Theatre Awards
and of course, audience favourites
are placed firmly on the listings. Various English-spoken masterclasses
and lectures by top international theatre
experts and practitioners are usually also planned during the festival.
Amsterdam Fringe Festival
Running alongside the Dutch Theatre Festival, the Amsterdam Fringe Festival
celebrates the avant-garde
by staging around 80 productions by cutting-edge home-grown and international producers and artists at diverse locations across the city.
