Amsterdam’s most beautiful polling stations

Updated 13 March 2026 at 12:56
On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, the elections for the municipal council, district committees and Weesp Administrative Committee will take place in Amsterdam for residents, including eligible non-Dutch citizens. While the municipality of Amsterdam can help advise you on the parties to vote for, we've put together a guide to the most beautiful spots you can vote from. Whether it's landmark buildings or well-known museums, treat your civic duty as a cultural tour.

First, a note:

  • Don't forget to bring your voting pass and your identity document (passport or ID) when you go to vote.
  • You need to be registered as a resident in Amsterdam to vote
  • In order to vote as a non-Dutch citizen in the city council elections, you need to be an EU citizen or have been registered in the Netherlands without interruption for at least 5 years. For all the information as an international, have a read of our guide here.
  • Most polling stations are open from 07:30 - 21:00 (some have different opening hours).
  • Visit the municipality's website for an overview of all polling stations in Amsterdam, their opening hours, and accessibility.
