Christmas markets in and around Amsterdam
Throughout the month of December, the Netherlands overflows with the Christmas spirit. Markets become more than a place to buy food and trinkets – they become a place to warm up with glühwein and oliebollen, find the perfect gifts for friends and family, and spend time with those you love. Here's our roundup of festive markets that are usually hosted in and around Amsterdam each year.
Museumplein transforms into a charming Christmas Village each year with live entertainment, market stalls, and plenty of festive food and drink to keep you warm. In 2023, the event will happen without the ice skating rink. However, you can rest assured there's still plenty of winter fun to be had, including exciting vendors, delicious food, and roaming choirs performing a cappella songs in a magical winter landscape. So put on your winter coat and warm shoes, come by for a hot chocolate, a glass of mulled wine or buy your last gifts.
