het NUT / Greg Nottrot / Hendrik de Pecker - Als vader vechten is

Als vader vechten is is about the courage to carry on. A conversation of thirty years told in one evening. Between a mother and a son and a son and his lover. A story about the absence of a parent and growing older yourself. About growing up with loss, tears, the smell of nursing homes and lobster.

Telemachus grows up without a father. He is there, but not really. Some losses begin long before someone is gone. For Telemachus, that makes for a difficult search. Because how do you do that, growing up without a role model? Who teaches you the rules of life? Which urinal do you choose in a public restroom? What is the difference between knights and pirates? And when are you allowed to hit back and when not?

Als vader vechten is documentary and myth. Hendrik de Pecker writes the story of his youth and combines it with that of Telemachus, son of Odysseus.
