Salvador Sobral

The acclaimed Portuguese singer and Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral is coming to the Kleine Zaal for the third time, this time with his new album A Flor do Recomeço (The Flower of a New Beginning) in tow. The album will be released this autumn and embraces Salvador Sobral's warm bond with Brazilian music. For him, it is a very personal journey back to his musical roots.

Salvador Sobral sings with a fragile intimacy that immediately resonates. His music moves effortlessly between jazz, Brazilian melodies, and chanson, constantly supported by his warm, expressive voice. Sobral chooses nuance over effect: gently swinging rhythms, refined harmonies, and plenty of room for silence and breath. His songs feel personal and poetic, vulnerable, sincere, and always musically curious.

A Flor do Recomeço

Salvador Sobral presents his new album A Flor do Recomeço , an album featuring exclusively Brazilian composers. The album contains a beautiful series of previously unreleased tracks written especially for Sobral by renowned artists such as Adriana Calcanhotto, Arnaldo Antunes, Chico César, Céu, Marcelo Camelo, Mallu Magalhães, Marcos Valle, and Tim Bernardes. The title is taken from a poem by writer Eveline Sin, set to music by Chico César. For Sobral, this project is a very personal journey back to his musical roots: 'I am absolutely convinced that music originated in Brazil. I grew up with Maria Bethânia in my mother's car and Chico César in my father's. This album stems from the need to return to the origins to deepen and discover the timeless sounds of this side of the Atlantic.'
