Tribute to dance greats
The National Ballet Academy pays tribute to Ted Brandsen and Rachel Beaujean, who are leaving the Dutch National Ballet. The school also marks the departure of Artistic Director Ernst Meisner. The 165 pupils and students present a diverse program, accompanied live by the Ballet Orchestra.
Classical and spirited dance
Experience the performance and discover a challenging choreography from Beaujean's successful production of Raymonda . In it, pure classical ballet technique and spirited character dance come together. An exceptional performance by the students that you won't want to miss.
Vibrant premieres
The academy presents various premieres, including No Time Before Time by Ernst Meisner. You will also see a powerful new creation, Opaque , by choreographer Mthuthuzeli November, created especially for four graduating students. This promises to be an evening full of energy and innovation.
Festive conclusion
The performance concludes with a Grand Défilé of all pupils and students, followed by a choreographic fireworks display by the senior classes. Teacher Rinat Gizatulin has curated this spectacle. A festive finale that you can experience at the National Opera & Ballet Amsterdam.
