In The Holy Mountain, you follow a nameless drifter who is chosen by an alchemist for a special journey. That alchemist is played by director Alejandro Jodorowsky himself. Together with a group of nine powerful figures, the drifter sets out for the holy mountain in search of immortality and enlightenment. The film combines imagery from Eastern and Western traditions with sharp social criticism.
