SONICO: The Edge of Tango

Astor Piazzolla and Eduardo Rovira are regarded as the two great pioneers of avant-garde tango. Their creative effort and drive for innovation gave birth to contemporary tango, yet the question always remains as to who actually modernized this genre first. This concert brings together the music of Piazzolla's and Rovira's groundbreaking octets for the first time. Performed by SONICO, a Brussels ensemble that, through research, recordings, and international tours, is bringing Rovira's legacy back to life.
