On the Roof at HoogtIJWhat started 10 years ago as an ambitious idea from a passionate group of organisers has now grown into a popular music festival which takes over the rooftops of Amsterdam each Summer. Experience the most beautiful intimate concerts, with numerous genres covered from jazz to global sounds and improvised pieces.

Vondelpark Open Air Theatre

That festival feeling is very much still attainable, it's just spread out over the entire summer. Basking in the sun with a thirst-quenching drink in hand, enjoy live music, theatre, comedy and more at the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre. Every weekend a wide range of artists take to the stage including well-known and up-and-coming acts like Trijntje Oosterhuis, Thijs Boontjes and Henry van Loon.

Amsterdam Grachtenfestival Jeroen C. van ZijpThis impressive showcase of classical music and jazz is always something a bit different. Young musicians and child prodigies from all over the world arrive in the Dutch capital to share their talent with a stunned audience. Performances take place at a range of locations across the city including at The Hermitage and Podium Mozaïek.

Amsterdam Fringe

Amsterdam Fringe Festival APOS JomeciaIt's all about undiscovered talent at the Amsterdam Fringe Festival, an 11-day showcase of theatre and dance. A wide range of artists is given the platform to display their independent spirit and creative freedom through the varied programming. There will be an extensive range of ‘Language No Problem’ shows.

Dutch Theatre Festival

Every year the Dutch Theater Festival enchants and challenges audiences with a great selection of theatre, lectures and workshops. De Gliphoeve, for example, is a musical performance about the gap between black and white people in the Netherlands. Or, see the impressive De Zaak Shell, where theatremakers and journalists bring forward the most important voices from the climate debate.

Parels van de Stad

At Parels van de Stad (Pearls of the City), nine of Amsterdam's most important event organizers come together to throw the party of the year. Unfortunately, this year's festivities won't be held at Blijburg Beach, but will continue in the Tuinen van West. The full line-up has not yet been announced, but Dutch stars such as Ronnie Flex, Cho and Poke will certainly shine on stage.
