Amstelhaven

Close to the prestigious Amstelhotel is café-restaurant Amstelhaven with an impressive terrace on decking on the water. As a result, on sunny days many pleasure boats moor for a bottle of rosé and a salad. The interior is straightforward with an art deco detail here and there. On less sunny days, it contains mostly working people for a drink to eat afterwards (carpaccio, pasta bolognese, half a chicken) and to dance until late at night on weekends. There is live music every Sunday.

Unique terrace

Amstelhaven has the largest deck terrace in Amsterdam that is actually on the water! In the summer you can enjoy the sun all day with us. Amstelhaven is also one of the few places in Amsterdam where you can moor your boat and then go straight to the table or even eat on your boat.

Special history

The building in which Amstelhaven is located was built as an atomic bomb shelter during the cold war for the city council. After the building was no longer used by the municipality, the "River cafe" and Zeilmakerij "Aan de wind" established themselves here. After that, these two companies merged and Amstelhaven was created.

Because Amstelhaven depends on the weather, opening hours can vary, check the website for the most up-to-date information. Do you want to make sure you are not standing in front of a closed door? Then you can call +31 20 6652672.
