Parking in Amsterdam

Each year, nearly one million visitors travel to Amsterdam with their own cars, and if you’re planning to do the same there are some things to keep in mind. Amsterdam is easy to navigate by car, but because of the compact layout of the city, and the high demand on parking spaces, Park+Ride locations on the edge of the city are a great option. Deeper in the city, Amsterdam’s digital parking system is what you’ll be using. It can get quite expensive, but the system is straightforward to use: you need only enter your license plate into the meters, and pay with a local bank card or international credit card; cash or coins cannot be used in parking meters.
