Getting to Haarlem
Getting to Haarlem from Amsterdam is a piece of cake. It’s quick and easy to get there using public transport.
Haarlem is a beautiful city that's just a short hop from Amsterdam. Most of the major attractions are within walking distance of Station Haarlem. Still, if you'd like to save some time, buses also depart from directly outside the train station, taking you deeper into the city centre in minutes.
By train
Trains from Amsterdam Central Station to Haarlem's beautiful station run numerous times an hour (usually departing from track 1 or 2 and stopping at Amsterdam Sloterdijk station along the way). The journey takes around 20 minutes. The last train to and from Haarlem departs around 01:00. You can plan your trip using the journey planner on the NS website or Google Maps (if you also want help getting to one of the main train stations).
By bus
If you find yourself closer to the Elandsgracht area, you might be just as quick taking bus 80 from the Elandsgracht bus station to Haarlem. The journey takes about 40 minutes. If you exit at Tempeliersstraatstop you will be right at the bottom of the main shopping area and a five minute walk from either the Frans Halsmuseum or Haarlem Stadsschouwburg.
