Nelson Mandelapark

Kwaku Summer Festival

What started 51 years ago as a football tournament for the neighbourhood has now been a grand celebration of the identity of the Zuidoost district for years. The Nelson Mandela Park will be the scene of dance, music, film, food and of course football for four weekends.  The festival will return to Nelson Mandela Park in 2026. Grachtenfestival Amsterdam

In 2026, the Grachtenfestival will return to Amsterdam for the 29th edition. At the Grachtenfestival everything starts with music. Young musicians from all over the world surprise you with their own musical stories. With more than 95 locations, the Grachtenfestival will again be present this year in all parts of Amsterdam, with many free neighborhood concerts, but also at unique locations such as the Royal Palace on Dam Square, the ARTIS Planetarium and Fabrique des Lumières. This ensures that the Canal Festival always continues to innovate and allows visitors to (re)discover the city.

SAIL Amsterdam, held every five years, is the world's largest maritime event, bringing tall ships and unique vessels to the IJ. SAIL Amsterdam will return to the IJ in 2030.

Westerpark

Every spring the Rolling Kitchens return to Amsterdam's Westerpark A mobile food festival for gourmets. This year, the site in the Westerpark will again be transformed into the largest open-air restaurant in Europe. More than 110 hand-selected Rolling Kitchens are getting back on track. Amsterdam Roots Festival

In 2025 Amsterdam Roots Festival returns to Oosterpark with a sparkling program full of music, circus, dance, theatre, children's activities and workshops. The lineup features an impressive mix of artists from around the world, including Ghana's Florence Adooni and South Korea's Ak Dan Gwang Chil. This year's theme is 'Blind Spots', with which the festival wants to contribute to a more inclusive and connected society. Please note: Listed dates and times for 2025 are subject to change.

Junior Grachtenfestival

The Junior Grachtenfestival will return for it's 29th edition in 2026. You are never too young to get in touch with good music. The Grachtenfestival Junior is the perfect opportunity for this, because there is once again a packed program for the youngest visitors. Almost every day there is a concert, performance or other performance on the program. This way there is plenty of opportunity to immerse the children in music.
