From 12 July to 31 August, visitors can embark on a two-hour cruise on the stunning two-master Tall Ship Bounty to experience what sailing was like in the 17th century (albeit in a comfortable, luxurious way).

The cruises take place on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday and start at the Bataviawerf, an extraordinary shipyard on the outskirts of Lelystad where ships with an important maritime history are taken from oblivion and returned to their former glory. The cruise is a great experience for children, too, and can be combined with a visit to the shipyard. For more information, timetables and booking, see the Bounty website.
