17 goals for a better world

The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) is helping to create a better world. As coordinator of the Dutch part of a special UN network, the university is working on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals – less inequality, more sustainability and peace.

Achieving goals

To achieve these goals, cooperation is needed. That is why the VU organizes the Summit for Future Generations. During this meeting, people from universities, companies, governments and social organizations come together. Young people also participate. They share good examples and start new projects together.

The conversations revolve around 3 major themes:

• Sustainable development and financing
• International peace and security
• Youth and the future

There will be inspiring speakers, workshops, and meetings. With this meeting, the VU wants to connect people who are working on a sustainable future—now and for generations to come.
