Lisa Weeda/BrotherTill - Begin Again

In a time when the usefulness of humanity is being questioned, a mother advocates for a world without ego. Her son stubbornly clings to a world with ego.
Lisa Weeda/BrotherTill - Begin Again
The boundaries of theatre
In the sensory, musical performance Begin Again, the award-winning interdisciplinary art collective BrotherTill and writer Lisa Weeda push the boundaries of theatre. This performance revolves around the conviction that you must let go of something essential in order to move forward. Can you leave behind deeply ingrained hierarchies and place the ecological perspective above the human one?
A story about humanity and nature
The mother, an activist and inventor, found an omniscient stone deep in the earth. According to her, this stone is the last guide humanity needs to reunite with nature. Her son, a sculptor, grew up among these stones, while his mother was rarely present. She envisions a new world, but he clings to his view of humanity.
Experience a whirlwind farewell
Upon entry, you receive a stone. What follows is a whirlwind farewell, a mix of hyper-technology, immersive music, and an intensely human experience. You find yourself in the middle of the story. The room hums and the stones sing: ‘free us, the end of man must begin.’
Part two of a fascinating trilogy
Begin Again is the second part of the human-technology trilogy by BrotherTill and Lisa Weeda. This is a long-term investigation into the relationship between humans and technology. The first part, Dans Dans Revolutie, earned them the Ontwerpersprijs at the Nederlands Theater Festival and a nomination for a Gouden Kalf.
