It is an ode to the traveller. A wandering journey around the Mediterranean. Musical and poetic. Writer and master storyteller Abdelkader Benali wanders through history together with violinist Myrthe Helder (from Club Classique). Classical, Turkish and Cretan sounds, flamenco and Arabic maqam can be heard. Music that transcends borders and opens up worlds. With Café Kaváfis as the ultimate resting place. A place where people come and go. Travellers, traders, musicians, refugees and business people. Who bring stories with them. About war and love. About mass tourism and ancient civilisations. About dreams of a future. And when Orchestre Partout also joins in, musicians with a refugee background, with their own musical traditions, a truly rich and topical soundscape is created. An ode in which East and West meet each other.
