Corporate and cultural events venue the Lichtfabriek is the beating heart of Nieuwe Energie (New Energy), the centre for creative industry.

All the gas and electricity supplying the whole of Haarlem was once produced on these premises, a reminder of the industrial era. Built in 1896 in neoclassicist style, it is a fine expression of this exceptional style.
