Tulp Festival

Tulip Festival Amsterdam will take place for the 9th time in April 2023. Tulip Festival brightens up the streets of Amsterdam throughout the month of April and sends you on a discovery along dozens of locations with hundreds of thousands of tulips. From North to Southeast and from East to New West, blooming tulips mark through routes and enliven shopping streets and centres, squares and bridges in all parts of the city.

A colorful connection

In the spring, the Tulip Festival not only connects the city districts, but also the companies, residents and visitors. Saskia Albrecht is a garden designer and initiator of the Tulip Festival. It is her ambition to bring the tulip back into Amsterdam's streets, with the motto 'a tulip for every Amsterdammer'. A tulip for every Amsterdammer also means a tulip from every Amsterdammer. In the autumn, students, companies, shopkeepers, hotels, museums and city districts plant bulbs. To brighten up Amsterdam's streets with tulips, we encourage residents to participate, so that everyone can enjoy a colorful city.

In the Center towards the east, the Prins Hendrikkade, the Plantage Middenlaan opposite Artis and the Czaar Peterstraat have been added as tulip locations.

In Centrum-west is the Elandsgracht as a tulip location. As in previous years, there is a tulip route from the Damrak into the city, via Dam, Rokin, De Munt and Vijzelstraat to the Weteringcircuit. On the other side of the Weteringcircuit, there is a kilometer-long row of tulips on the Stadhouderskade; an initiative of 'The Green Mile', which wants to make this city artery greener. Cheerful tulips can be admired on Koningsplein, Leidseplein and Museumplein and accompany you in the streets of the Museum Quarter.

On a walk in Oud-West, a tulip stop on the neighborhood squares is recommended, from Mercatorplein along Kwakersplein, Bellamyplein, Witte de Withplein, Van Limburg Stirumplein all the way to Frederik Hendrikplantsoen. Further on in New West, tulips welcome you on Osdorpplein and the same is the case in South on Gelderlandplein, in Southeast on Amsterdamse Poort and in North on Buikslotermeerplein near shopping center Boven 't Y. Other familiar places in North are the IJpromenade, Van der Pekstraat, Mosveld and Metro station Noord. New locations in Noord are Zonneplein, Mercuriusplein, Molenwijk, Banne and the NDSM site.

Colorful bowls and tubs with tulips

Over the past two years, the city went for a walk en masse and has continued to do so. The Tulip Festival offers extra inspiration for a surprising detour in your own neighborhood or other part of the city. Let yourself be seduced again in April by the explosion of types and colors of tulips in the Centre, North, West and New West, East, South and Southeast. Take photos and share them on social media. From mid-March 2023, the flowering locations will be listed on the map .
