After his debut film Lola, director Jacques Demy returned with La Baie Des Anges , a feverish romance about gambling, desire, and the intoxication of chance. Jeanne Moreau plays Jackie, a platinum-blonde gambler who drags the young bank clerk Jean from the casinos of Paris to the roulette rooms of Nice and Monte Carlo. Their love story and their luck at the table are inextricably linked.
