In Hundreds of Beavers, you follow Jean, a drunkard who decides to become a beaver hunter. His goal: to impress the daughter of a local merchant. But the beavers won't cooperate. They are smart, stubborn, and have bigger plans than Jean could ever have imagined. The film is set in a winter landscape and combines silent-film humor with wild slapstick.

Low-budget film with a big imagination

Director Mike Cheslik made Hundreds of Beavers on a small budget but with boundless creativity. The beavers? Just people in carnival costumes. Yet it works. The film demonstrates that you can tell an inventive and entertaining story with limited resources. After a successful tour of international genre festivals, including the American Fantastic Fest and the Japanese Yubari, the film is now also showing in the Netherlands.
