Since his successful debut at the Concertgebouw in 2019 with the Munich Philharmonic under Valery Gergiev, the young violinist Daniel Lozakovich has returned to Amsterdam several times, and last autumn he made his debut with the Concertgebouw Orchestra with Klaus Mäkelä during a tour of Asia. Now, the top Swedish violinist performs Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra. The concerto demands the utmost from the soloist and takes listeners on a compelling musical journey in which both virtuosity and expressive power take center stage.

Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6

In his Sixth Symphony, Tchaikovsky incorporated all the suffering and love, happiness and torments of his turbulent life. The nickname 'Pathétique', which incidentally was not coined by the composer himself, refers to the tragic character of the work, particularly in the slowly fading final movement. Tchaikovsky considered this symphony a highlight of his oeuvre. He died unexpectedly shortly after the premiere, making this poignant work a poignant musical farewell.
