Isaac Lottman

Isaac Lottman received his first cello lessons at the age of three. His love for the instrument proved genuine, and he ended up at the Amsterdam Conservatory. In 2022, Lottman won second prize at the National Cello Competition. He loves chamber music and is a cellist in the Fontana Quartet. With his sister Yente, a violinist, he forms the duo Fatalis, the nickname their grandfather received from his Latin teacher. Tonight they will perform Vasks, Ravel, and a new composition by second cousin Mathilde Wantenaar. Ravel returns after the intermission, alongside Poulenc and Chopin, for which Lottman is accompanied by Thijs Willers. "The colorful French repertoire has something dreamy and ironic about it, which makes it so enjoyable for me to play."
